Philip Delamore

Philip Delamore is a Senior Research Fellow in Digital Technologies, and the Director of the Fashion Digital Studio at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.

He sits on the European Commision Euratex expert panel for the fashion and textiles sector, and is also an advisor to the UK Govt Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network .

He is an artist, author and consultant for major luxury brands, fashion SMEs and technology and media companies, and his current research projects centre on mass customisation and personalisation of fashion products-encompassing the real and virtual worlds. His expertise covers design innovation strategies, customisation and digital manufacturing, and high-end designer fashion.

“My research looks at the impact of new and emerging technologies on the fashion industry. As we begin to fashion our identities in the “Multiverse”, the nature of what fashion is and how we consume it is radically changing. I am interested in how disruptive technology is rethinking the way we design, create and communicate, and what this means for the future of fashion.”

Philip brings 20 years experience in the fashion industry to his specialist field of research, which is in the convergence of fashion design and technology ,bringing together experts from human, material and computer sciences to develop new approaches to sustainable design practice..

He is currently running a number of research and consultancy projects that include monetising metadata for the fashion industries, networking micro-factories for mass customisation and new approaches to sizing using low cost home computers.
