David A. N. Jackson is a multidisciplinary performer and actor, visual artist, wood carver, drum carver and percussionist/soundscapist as well as a poet. He was recently awarded and received Induction and Membership into the Saint Louis Warrior Poets Council, (Dec. 2011). He is an ever-evolving and accomplished poet, writer and vocalist, just to list a few of his skills. An avid community activist and teacher, David uses and infuses his unique artistic  perspective and approach to tackle and address many communal /social issues and challenges. Endearingly known around the city and throughout the region as “D’Poet~ David A. N. Jackson is and has been described as the bridge that connects young artists with elder artists and the history. Often called “Culture Man” and the “Cultural Crusader” he is considered an institution and cultural tour de force in the Saint Louis arts arena. He is the founder and producing artistic director of the artist & creative persons performance event known as The HOTBOX Virtualclub STL L.L.C., an event that provides artistic access to both artists and audiences. David A. N. Jackson is a 2003 CAT Institute Alum.

The Riverfront Times Magazine in their 1997 Best of St. Louis Poll listed and ranked him No. 2 in the category Best Poet/Performance Artist.
