Alia Harvey-Quinn currently serves as Youth Program Coordinator for the Detroit Media Economy Collaborative (DMEC).  DMEC’s primary goal is to create a sustainable media based economy in Detroit that is accessible to those traditionally exempt or misrepresented in the mainstream media. As such, Alia works with youth serving agencies across Detroit whose programmatic focus is rooted in social justice, youth activism and multimedia creation; to support the agencies with funding, staff development opportunities, curricular resources and grassroots fundraising campaigns.  Alia has worked with youth in the Metro Detroit area for the last decade, specializing in arts and multimedia education, youth entrepreneurship, culturally relevant program development and social justice infused education.
